I am a self-taught artist, born in the PNW, now living in Arizona. I have a double major in communication as well as Dance from the University of Washington. While attending the University of Washington I adored dance and choreography. It was part of my identity, but after graduating, I found it hard to continue with that art form. From the lack I felt without dance, I discovered painting as a new form of creative expression. I found it relaxing and therapeutic. I realized soon after beginning, that painting was my passion. Since the day I picked up the paintbrush in 2017, it’s has filled my days.
Dance played a large role in my creative process at the beginning, I focused on the human form and movement, but slowly my love for the ocean became overwhelming and my focus started to change. I tried to capture the movement of the ocean and the depth of the colors. This transition was inspired by the travels I have been very lucky to have had. My love for the ocean transitioned into a focus on landscapes. Sunsets, seascapes, and mountain scenes filled my studio as I worked to create memories on canvas.
With a big move to a new state, came new inspiration. I have come full circle and have returned to painting figures while incorporating new inspiration from the desert landscape. My work consists of combining all my favorite elements in life into beautiful collections of paintings. Turning memories into art and capturing the essence of nature.
